The text on the plaque above is:

From the time period of 1947 to 1950, a group of volunteers from the Orillia Moose Lodge including lodge members and their family members came together to build a beach for all Orillian’s to enjoy.

All members of the 1217 lodge worked together to clear an area of brush, hauled in truckloads of beach sand and raked the area until a nice, sandy breach area was formed. The members and their families built a change house and canteen for public use. The area was named “Moose Beach” and the name still stands today.
