The Orillia Moose Lodge 1217 is a Fraternal Unit of Moose International.ย  For further information about Moose International or how to become a Moose member click here.

The Loyal Order of Moose Orillia is made up both men and women working together.  There are 3 Fraternal Units: Lodge 1217 which everyone belongs to, a Womenโ€™s Chapter (659), and a Menโ€™s Legion which you would join to work on higher degrees and additional fundraising projects.

Together we have had several Community Events and/or Projects such as but not limited to:

  • Special Olympics Sports Banquets, Registrations and Golf Tournament
  • Back to School Supplies for several families in need
  • Many lunches and teas for Special Birthdays, Anniversaries and Funerals
  • Several Fun Events for our Members and/or Benefits for organization within our local community, such as but not limited to:
  • Darts, Golf & Euchre Tournaments, Benefit and Friday Night Dinners, Sports Leagues, Drop-in Fun nights for Euchre, Darts, Pool, Music, etc.
  • Several Benefits for individuals in Crisis for members, family of members and Community-driven
  • Christmas Food and Toy Drive, Adopting Individual Families, and Ringing the bells for Salvation Army

Additionally, we financially assist several groups including Organizational, Provincial, and our local Community:

  • Mooseheart โ€“ our Child City
  • Moosehaven โ€“ our Retirement Community
  • Ontario Moose Association projects such as Canada Home needs and wish lists, OPP Child Find and several other local charities and food banks in other Ontario Communities we visit
  • Locally: The Sharing Place, Greenhaven Shelter, Couchiching Jubilee House, Biminaawzogin Womenโ€™s Circle, Building Hope, Mariposa House Hospice, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Ontario Early Years, Autism Society, MS Society, Diabetes Society, CNIB, Sick Kids Cancer Ride, Special Olympics, Comfie Cat Shelter, SPCA, Legion Remembrance Day, K9RR Therapy Dogs for Veterans, etc.
